Assistive Devices for Nurses
Our Mission
The mission of the Biomedical Engineering team and the nursing students is to develop a device that would allow disabled nurses to help patients better in the hospital environment. The collaborative team will create an app to change the medium through which the alarms/alerts in hospitals are sent so the sensory overload for nurses and disabled nurses will be reduced while retaining the ability to notify them of the patient’s conditions.
Research
- Researched more about Physical and Non-Physical Disabilities and assistive devices for each.
- Created a survey to receive qualitative and quantitative data about accessibility issues in the nursing profession.
